| V.I.P. Chicago is pleased to announce our Dj Class (pay per session), or our month long course featuring experienced DJ’s who will be sharing the techniques and skills necessary to be an accomplished Disk Jockey and Audio Editor.
We are currently in the process of securing a location where you can go to. In the mean time you can actually schedule A home visit. Our course consist of Three separate Sessions catering toward your specific skill level, including brand new starters who just want to learn the basics. You can pay per session ($75), For personal tutoring. One our instructors will set up a time when is most convenient for you. We can visit you at home to help you with your home studio set up while at the same time bring over some basic gear (CDJ’s with a Laptop and Speakers) for you to start the class with and practice on for the hour. We will take you through the basic’s of sound and equipment set ups for live and home recording all the while taking into consideration your skill level . This course is also beneficial for D.J.’ s that are interested in taking there career to another level, learning to record and edit a working demo involving advanced editing techniques. All demonstration materials will be provided by V.I.P. Chicago. Your class fee will also include a free phone consultation with us here at V.I.P. Please note: A Laptop or desktop P.C. is helpful but not absolutely required for the 1st class. SPECIAL NOTE: Please do not buy any equipment until we have a chance to chat about what your best options are.
Course Schedule SESSION ONE: BASIC SET UPS WITH DIFFERENT EQUIPMENT COMMONLY USED IN MOST NIGHTCLUBS WORKING WITH DIFFERENT TYPES OF EQUIPMENT: POINTERS FOR PURCHASING AND RENTING THE PROPER EQUIPMENT FOR EACH TYPE OF SET OR EVENT. LEARNING TO “CLOCK” AND ORGANIZE YOUR MUSIC AND CONSTRUCTING THE RIGHT FORMAT FOR EACH EVENT WITH PLAYLIST AND SUBFOLDERS.
SESSION TWO: DISCUSSING A CAREER AS AN PROFESSIONAL. LEARN WHAT IT TAKES TO HANDLE A PACKED ROOM, OR JUST A SMALL GET TOGETHER; THE BEST THINGS TO INCLUDE IN A PERFORMANCE CONTRACT. PROMOTING YOURSELF THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA EACH CLASS ENDS WITH A PRACTICE SESSION.
SESSION THREE: DIGITAL EDITING, SHORTCUTS AND FREE SOFWARE SETTING UP A MIXER BOARD, AND CREATING YOUR HOME STUDIO EDITING AN ACTUAL DEMO AND POSTING IT ONLINE FOR THE WORLD TO HEAR!
